Surfing in Hikkaduwa (November to March)

Hikkaduwa is a main surf destination and annually attracts surfers from Australia, UK, Japan, US and many more and is located 100km away from the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo.
There are 3 to 4 surf points with clear warm water in Hikkaduwa area. Although most of them are reef breaks, none of them are risky. All spots have a deep bottom & flat reef.

IKKADUWA SURF ZONE : Le Maya Reef et Le Boom Beel

Location : Cabalezia is located in the village of Ahangama on the increasingly popular south coast, less than half an hour’s drive from the historic town of Galle. A broad, sandy beach, where a gentle off-shore breeze can sometimes take edge of the hottest days, is ranked in the top three surfing spots in Sri Lanka.

Description : Cabalezia comprises seven standard bedrooms in the main building and 14 superior rooms in one and two-storey cabanas. This has long been a favored hotel for surfers, especially in the season from mid-October to mid-April, but recent extensions and improvements are now shifting the hotel a little more up market and attracting a wider spread of clientele. A lush, green lawn lined with palm trees envelopes the swimming pool and leads directly on to a long, sandy stretch of quiet beach.

Facilities: The hotel boasts a sizeable restaurant and two bars, used to host theme nights during peak season. Each double bedroom – complete with four-poster bed – has satellite television and mini-bar, and will be converted into a triple on request. All but one of the 21 rooms is equipped with air-conditioning. Tours and water sport activities can be arranged at reception…
